Comics Justice League
At
the dawn of the new heroic age, five heroes worked together on a case
and decided to continue working as a team. Calling themselves the
Justice League of America, in homage to the Justice Society of
yesteryear, Aquaman, Black Canary, the Flash, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
and the Martian Manhunter soon became friends and the darlings of the
media. Defeating numerous attempts at world domination, sometimes with
the help of their 'mascot' Snapper Carr, the League soon gained new
members in the Atom and Green Arrow. When the Justice Society came out
of retirement, partly because they were worried about the League,
Society members Hawkman and Hawkgirl joined the Justice League as
liaisons between the teams.
